It all started with a young man who wondered where is the water coming from if the water is shut off ? From that point on the quest for knowledge was on. This is the Bubba Backflow central volume 1 my name is Ken Ashlock I am your host.  I am a Certified backflow tester; specialist have been in the business for over 40 years. I am a past president of America Backflow Prevention Association. I was a Backflow Program Manager for 22 years and have had my own business now for the last 18 years. So this is not your just I have a beef.

 I want to share my thoughts being in this business for that long.  You see things that are happening and I'm going to talk about some things today that are going to probably hit some sensitive spots for some people in some areas of this business, but it has to be said.

When this business first started in believe me I was at the cusp of this business in Arizona. When I started this in 1984 there were not many backflow programs at that point. So Needless to say that every one that is running a program now, came after me and somewhere along the line the culture of this business changed.

I've been training backflow testers and specialists about 38 years all toll and we have been consistent on what a backflow program is and the best way to run one.  The best way to test backflow assemblies and why repair a Backflow assembly the best way to accomplish it.  The best way to do inspections and to treat a customer. the best way to treat testers that test in your jurisdiction.  some of the Program specialist that are out there now not all are specialists some were just testers that were hired into a program and are trying to do whatever they can keep their head above water.
